KenpoKids is a martial arts class that builds a progressive pathway to a total martial arts experience. Free from contracts, attendance demands, or down-payments, this class explores both the ancient and modern forms in Shaolin Kenpo Karate in a wholistic, upbeat approach that is ideal for energetic kids. In this groundbreaking course, kids will learn to utilize fundamental concepts and techniques of Shaolin Kenpo to build greater levels of focus, strength, confidence and mental prowess. In addition to learning and practicing traditional karate skills and exercises, Kenpo kids classes utilizes a variety of approaches geared toward keeping things moving! Activites include:
Finally, kids will work together to choreograph a performance set to music. New material will be introduced each week, making each class progressively more detailed. Students will incorporate their knowledge into the performance in their own way. Each class is 1 full hour of time on the floor. Please arrive a few minutes early so that you are ready to begin. Class will remain positive, upbeat and lighthearted, with plenty of space for giggles, and to enjoy each other’s company. The opportunity to learn and test for colored belts is always available to students if they desire to progress in Shaolin Kenpo in this way. Ideal for kids 6-9 years, this course promises to provide a Shaolin Kenpo journey in which they will also learn the precision and performance aspects of the art. Contact us if you have questions. |
The Running Tiger patch represents our school as well as our lineage. In 2003, Great Grandmaster Castro formally awarded David Meyer the dance, Running Tiger. The fist, characterized as mountains, is Great Grandmaster’s logo and also represents his dance, Mountain Meets River. The lightening bolt represents Great Great Grandmaster, William Kwai Sun “Thunderbolt” Chow and the eagle represents Sibok Joseph Chacon, Eagle Talon.
