With the new semester beginning at area colleges, this is a good time to mention this statistic: the most frequent assaults of college women occurs during their freshman or sophomore year and within the first week or two of a new semester.  When you attend social functions, go with friends and be certain you all leave together.  Use of date rape drugs is widespread so keep your beverage in hand at all times.  If ever it leaves your hand, get a new beverage. 

Guys, we all have a role to play in reducing sexual violence against women.  Speak up when other guys are behaving inappropriately. One voice can turn the tide.
